We the Co-Founders of SEEK are proud Armenian-American sisters who have a great deal of pride in our culture and heritage. The current situation in Armenia and Artsakh has deeply saddened us and compelled us to help alleviate the pain and suffering our brothers and sisters are facing. After much deliberation we created the opportunity to hold a fundraising event with generous private donors who support our cause. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of others and are proud to announce that we raised $5,000 which will be donated to “Armenian Wounded Hero’s Fund”.

We are excited to share how a portion of your contributi’on to SEEK has been utilized so far! Your support has fed the F.I.T. (Families in Transition) program by providing Grab & Go meals during COVID-19. The generosity provided has also helped with creating and distributing 3D printed face shields to more than 400 Pasadena Unified School District essential staff and volunteers. Without the kindness you have shown SEEK, our organization would not have been able to help impact those in need. THANK YOU! (see below to read PUSDs Thank you letter and updates to SEEK)

Check back soon to see the current project we are working on with another portion of the donations collected.

We have officially started to work with a program called Families In Transition(FIT) and their Program Coordinator Eric Alvarez. FIT in Pasadena helps disadvantaged families and their children, by providing the necessary resources and access to high quality education and support services.

Initially, our goal was to raise money for the upcoming Fall 2020 school year to provide scholarships, technology, and school related resources. However, due to the unforeseen circumstances of COVID-19 we spoke to Mr. Alvarez and were informed about their most dire need: feeding the FIT families. Families in Transition has a partnership with The Salvation Army, and that program has been running low on the food reserved specifically for these families. Therefore we shifted our plan in order to immediately provide relief to these children and their families where needed.

Families in Transition (FIT) is the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) school support program fulfilling the requirements of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. The program is located at PUSD’s Center for Student & Family Services on the campus of Madison Elementary School. The FIT program ensures that all PUSD students experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness receive equitable access to a high-quality education and support services.”
